About the Role
This is a countywide role predominantly operating in South and West Essex, on occasion you may be required to support Organisational Safeguarding colleagues across Mid and North Essex. The role will be hybrid with a split between office, home and community working.
Within this specialist team, you will lead and co-ordinate section 42 Organisational and individual safeguarding enquiries, working with care providers to ensure adults are safe, to identify and support the provider to reduce any immediate risks and support on-going stability and sustained improvement.

Essex County Council work closely with their partners in Mid and North Essex, those joining teams in this area are uniquely positioned to be increasingly involved in partnership projects across care providers, local authorities and the NHS.
About You
To apply you should be a qualified social worker with a current Social Work England registration or a qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration. You'll bring at least 1 year's social work / OT experience, evidence of continuing professional development, and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards. Ideally you will have experience working within a safeguarding team.
As, as a subject matter expert in relevant professional practice, you should have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance. With experience of chairing meetings involving clients, family members, carers, and other multi-agency professionals, we're looking for your ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
This role involves travelling around Essex and beyond. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
