Social Worker - Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children
Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking experienced Social Workers to join their dedicated team supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). Due to a national increase in UASC, Birmingham are expanding their capacity to ensure these vulnerable young people receive the care and support they need.
The UK Border Agency defines UASC as children applying for asylum independently, separated from both parents, and without the care of a legal or customary adult. Birmingham's statutory responsibility is to assess and support these children, primarily within the children in care system.
