Black Book Resourcing is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Soft Landscaping Team Leader to join a growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape construction, horticulture, and team management. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing soft landscaping projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Soft Landscaping Team Leader Responsibilities




  • Supervise and manage a team of soft landscapers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely

  • Read and interpret landscape plans, specifications, and blueprints accurately

  • Plan and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, for each project

  • Train and mentor team members in proper planting techniques, equipment operation, and job site safety

  • Prepare and cultivate planting areas, including soil preparation, grading, and drainage

  • Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants according to landscape design plans

  • Install and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water distribution and conservation

  • Apply mulch, compost, and other soil amendments as needed to support plant health and aesthetics

  • Operate and maintain landscape construction equipment and tools, such as skid steers, excavators, and hand tools

  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success and customer satisfaction

  • Enforce all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and others

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned



Soft Landscaping Team Leader Qualifications




  • NVQ level or equivalent (desirable)

  • 3 years of experience in landscape construction, horticulture, or a related field

  • Proven experience in a team leader or supervisory role, or working towards

  • Knowledge of plants, planting techniques, and horticultural best practices (desirable)

  • Familiarity with irrigation systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (desirable)

  • Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and drawings

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • Detail-oriented and ability to follow instructions accurately

  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Certification in horticulture, landscape design, or a related field is a plus (desirable)
