Software Engineering Manager- London (Hybrid) Circa £100K + Bonus A leading FinTech in London has a business critical hire for a Software Engineering Manager/Development Manager to report directly to the CTO to help lead the Engineering team. This role offers a Hybrid working culture, 2 days in the office and you ll be joining this firm in the midst of a major technological revolution as they upgrade their tech stack. As a Software Engineering Manager, you ll be supporting and coaching the engineering team to make high-level architectural decisions and design choices whilst ensuring technical standards, tooling, and implementation. You ll collaborate with Product Owners to create technology solutions that meet business requirements, inputting into planning and estimation sessions and taking ownership of Technical Architecture and roadmaps. The successful candidate will have experience managing engineering teams of 5+ engineers and will be responsible for driving technical innovation and the capability to manage a team while being hands-on. A typical day: Grow and mentor software engineers and technical leaders Set and maintain high standards for software development practices, code quality, and delivery excellence. Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and continuous improvement. Prioritize feature development, balancing quality, timelines, and customer expectations. Implement and iterate on agile methodologies, ensuring efficient and effective software development and delivery processes. Build and lead a high-performing software engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Set clear goals and expectations for team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Track progress on projects, help engineers grow their project management skills Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, recognizing achievements, and identifying opportunities for growth. Champion a culture of continuous learning and personal development, encouraging knowledge-sharing and fostering innovation within the team. Being a role model of company culture and values Proven experience in leading and managing software engineering teams, in a fast-growing and changing environment. Strong technical background with in-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, architecture, and design patterns. Knowledge of Microsoft Technology Stack, C#, .Net, Azure On Prem, Azure DevOps Software engineering experience Passion for driving technical innovation and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to effectively present ideas, influence stakeholders, and build relationships.
