Role Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing web based software engineering projects, ensuring high-quality code, and fostering a productive and positive team environment. The ideal candidate would need to have a good understanding of technical architecture and great communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. It is not necessary to have contemporary coding competence.Key Responsibilities:People Management:Supervise and mentor software development team.Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members.Collaborate effectively with traffic managers and project managers.Understand individual team member strengths and leverage them effectively.Issue Resolution:Identify and remove roadblocks that hinder developer productivity.Address technical debt and ensure consistent documentation.Stakeholder Engagement:Regularly update managers and stakeholders on project progress.Maintain transparent communication to ensure alignment with project goals.Administrative Tasks:Handle reports, technical documentation, performance reviews, and budgeting.Use tools to track billable hours, project costs and budget effectively.Project Management:Define clear project goals and ensure alignment with business objectives.Employ project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) to manage workflow.Release Management:Oversee the release process, from planning to deployment.Ensure product quality and reliability through meticulous release management.Code Quality Assurance:Implement and maintain high standards of code quality.Use automated tools for code analysis and bug reporting.Recruiting:Participate in the recruitment process to attract top engineering talent.Collaborate with HR and other departments to build a strong development team.Qualifications:Proven experience in software engineering management.Strong leadership and team management skills.Proficiency in project management and code quality tools.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Sound knowledge of web architecture, database, hosting, security and DNSMinimum Experience:3 years experience managing a team of software engineers.3 years experience of software architecture.3 years of managing web projects.Preferred Skills:Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.Background in software development with hands-on coding experience.Familiarity with budgeting and administrative software.What we Offer:A dynamic and creative work environment in a forward-thinking company.Collaborative and innovative work environment.Competitive salary.Apply today to join our team and lead exciting and impactful software development projects!About Jones and Palmer Limited:At Jones and Palmer, we are not just about making things look great.
