A global Defence client with HQ’s around the U.K are looking to bring onboard either a Security cleared or willing to be security cleared Senior Software Assurance Engineer to join the team based either in Bristol, Brough, Portsmouth, Barrow-in-Furness, Frimley or Weymouth. The role can be based in either the project HQ in Barrow-In-Furness, or one of their satellite sites in Portsmouth, Filton, Frimley, Brough or Weymouth (satellite sites, expenses purposes ONLY).*Please note, this is NOT a Software Test role, there is NO requirement for testing experience, so please only apply if you have Software Assurance not Software QA/Test experience*Expensed travel is required to the project HQ in Cumbria for the first 2-3 month (frequency DoE). Once up to speed with the software, stakeholder and businesses processes, attendance to the HQ will reduce to around once or twice a quarter. You will also be required travel to customers site domestic and international (2-3 business days at a time). When not attending the HQ or traveling, work can be completed remotely.What you’ll be doing:Plan and carry out software assurance activities including reviews of plans, processes, witnessing testing, inspections and auditingReview software plans, documentation and software aspects of system level plans and documents to provide timely and meaningful feedbackEngage with inhouse System Designers, Software Developers and other engineering disciplines in the design process to ensure that software meets requirementsDocument the level of risk, provide evidence and reporting for Senior ManagementWork with a range of stakeholders at all levels to resolve non-conformances and programme risksYour skills and experiences:Software Systems Engineering experienceSolid understanding of Systems engineering lifecycle and how this relates to software and PLMStrong background in Software Assurance within a safety critical environment - EssentialConfident liaising with stakeholders within the businessSynergize Consulting is committed to equality and diversity in our workplace.
