Software Simulation Engineer

Job Title: Specialist Software Simulation Engineer
Location:Bristol (other locations available)
Salary:£50,000 - £65,000
What you'll be doing:
Developing software for an Active Cockpit simulator
Owning the requirements, design and implementation, system integration, and testing within schedule and estimates
Reporting progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
Producing appropriate technical documentation
Designing technical solutions, integrating COTS hardware and software
Working with customers to support delivered systems and resolve issues
Managing technical tasks
Refining development processes
Developing new work opportunities for the department and wider Test & Evaluation
Developing system architectures to meet emerging IT & IT security requirements
Planning and estimating development activities
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maths, or Physics
Programming knowledge and experience in C/C++
Experience with configuration control tools
Domain knowledge, particularly cockpit Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Desirable:
Knowledge and experience of Linux
Experience in task leading duties, including QMS documentation
Avionics/Mission systems domain knowledge
Use of Jira to manage software tasks
Knowledge of simulation interoperability (HLA/DIS/Link16) and associated standards
