We offer:Competitive financial packageFlexible working between home/office/court/police stationTop tier case management toolsLarge and dedicated finance and admin support teamA diverse team in a supportive and inclusive working environmentMain responsibilities of the role:Providing representation at police stationsRepresent clients in criminal proceedings, including trials and bail hearingsLiaising with clients, counsel, defendants and other partiesCollating and reviewing documentation and evidenceObtaining medical/accountancy evidence when required and having the ability to interpret that evidence and advise accordinglyLitigating casesConducting advocacyNegotiating with prosecutors on behalf of clientsManaging a caseload efficientlyEssential key skills:Duty Solicitor accreditationKnowledge of the Legal Aid systemAdvocacy and litigation skillsClean and valid practicing certificate at the time of applyingExcellent client care skills with the ability to represent vulnerable clientsAbility to work well as part of a teamIT literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel etc)Preferred key skills:Additional certificates and qualifications such as the Advocates GatewaySpecialist expertise in one or more areas of criminal law, particularly motoring offences and financial crime, white collar, financial and business crime.Note to recruitment agencies: We are recruiting direct for this role and will not be using agencies.
