Experience within Insurance is essential. About The Role We re looking for a Solution Architect to work across our change portfolio to take changes from ideation/inception through to implementation into the production estate. The successful applicant will be comfortable: Working with business stakeholders to elaborate and shape incomplete requirements which may not be well understood Production solution documentation, and taking this through internal governance processes Working with project managers and delivery teams to plan the activities and resources needed to successfully implement changes Providing oversight and support during the delivery lifecycle MS Amlin is part of a global top-10 insurance group, MS&AD. What You ll Spend Your Time Doing The key responsibilities of the role are: Creating an initial Solution Architecture Document outlining the scope of the solution being proposed to meet the requirements. Working with application teams to create application level designs and detailed implementation estimates Gaining approval for the solution through internal governance forums Supporting development and test activities and providing oversight to ensure: The solution as implemented aligns to the approved solution The solution is revised and any additional approval is provided based on changing requirements/technical understanding Providing input into assessment of success factors of projects/programmes Providing input on the change process and help to optimise where needed You re Going To Enjoy This Job If You Enjoy problem solving and critical thinking Are passionate about designing elegant solutions to solve business problems Love working with and analysing data What We Need From You The key experiences expected for the role are: Mandatory Experience working as a Solution Architect across the software delivery lifecycle: Requirements capture/definition/elaboration Initial shaping/estimating activity High level design of end to end solution Oversight of application level designs and integrations Support of testing activities Support for implementation/cutover activities Experience of working within Insurance ideally with some London Market experience Experience of supporting solutions across a heavily data driven architecture with multiple third-party integrations Experience in the design and configuration of Enterprise Application and Data Integration solutions Technical background and understanding of cloud based (preferably Azure) integration and data storage mechanisms Ability to convey complex technical ideas/solutions to both business and technical colleagues Significant experience with MS SQL Optional/Beneficial Ability to produce detailed cost estimate breakdowns for Azure resource costs based on transactions and data volume sizing Experience of defining and deploying Azure resources using Infrastructure-as-Code and Continuous Deployment models Experience of data analysis within databases with limited documentation Ability to design and configure authentication, encryption and security for integration Experience of data modelling Experience of process definition We are stronger together because of our common interests and rich differences.
