Solution Architect Department: Architecture Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: London Description As the Solution Architect in CFC you will be the problem solver that works with stakeholders to create lean solutions to business problems. Your solutions will shape the approach the business uses to create new capabilities or efficiencies. Solutions may be technical or non-technical in nature and this is key to being successful in this role. A deep understanding of the outcome needed so that you can make pragmatic decisions that shape your solutions options. About the role Delivering solutions options is only half of the role. A Solution Architect at CFC is expected to be hands on too. From requirement analysis through to technical delivery skills, you will assist in seeing the selected solution option delivered to your stakeholders. Day to day responsibilities will see you Continually develop an architecture based on the drivers and motivators of the business. Using an understanding of the business and technical requirements you will create transition architectures that achieve business goals. Create the materials that the organisation will use to align on standards. You will create reference architectures, patterns and practices that CFC will use to consistently deliver high quality solutions. Keep abreast of technology, market and competitor trends and factor these into solution options so that stakeholders have a clear understanding of the impact of their selected option. Be the guide, coach or mentor for technology decisions and use. Ensure that the technology department has all it needs to maximise the value of a chosen technology. Create proofs of concept or value that demonstrate a solution options feasibility. Clarifying any investment required to industrialise the solution. Be the lead on solution designs for Initiatives and Features. Assist the Product Owners in shaping the solutions options for stakeholders. About you The ability to consult at idea, analysis, design, implementation, delivery and run stages of a solution are essential. Stakeholder management is essential. Throughout the lifecycle of a solution the stakeholder map will shift. Being able to maintain healthy relationships and build rapport with stakeholders is key to success. Knowledge of server-side development for things like Client Application APIs, services and business to business APIs. (e.g. Microsoft .NET (core), ASP.NET (core) and other like technologies.) A deep understanding of databases, query languages and data schemas. (e.g. MS SQL Server, Cosmos DB, etc.) At least 10 years of solution development experience across multiple disciplines. This could include business or technical architecture, application development, cloud development or DevOps. Experience of a developing solutions in a fluid environment where priorities change frequently, meaning an adaptive approach to solution development is needed.
