We are recruiting for a passionate Sous Chef for a permanent opportunity at a Refugee Centre in the Braintree area.
The site is looking for an experienced Chef with experience in cooking in high volume, catering up to 700, with the potential to expanding more.
The food is a mixture of mainly fresh and frozen, with the view to become more of a fresh food offering with the right team. There is a breakfast, lunch and dinner service, of which you will oversee.
Job Title: Sous Chef
Reporting to: Kitchen Manager / Head Chef
Location: Wethersfield
Overall Objectives: To assist the Head Chef and manage the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen to ensure the quality of food and service is maintained at all times
Salary: £35,000 - 37,000pa (depending on experience)
Hours of Work: Normally 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days.

Essential
Attainments:
Good secondary education
NVQ qualification or equivalent
Excellent craft skills background
Successful progressive background in catering
Basic and Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
Allergen training
Good Supervisory experience
Ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
Desirable
Successful progressive background in education catering
Management of medium/large size kitchen
General Intelligence
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to plan ahead
Demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving
Ability to work on own initiative
Excellent communicator at all levels
Good numeracy skills
