About the Role

Are you committed to supporting students with special educational needs to reach their full potential? We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our school in Berkeley, with an immediate start. This full-time, permanent role will involve working closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning challenges, creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth, confidence, and positive engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small-group support for SEN students, guiding them to participate actively in classroom activities and develop key skills.
  • IEP Collaboration: Assist in implementing and adapting Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in coordination with teachers, tailoring learning activities to each student's unique needs.
  • Encouraging Positive Behaviour: Promote constructive behaviour and support social skill development, contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Progress Tracking and Reporting: Observe, document, and report on student progress, sharing valuable insights with teachers and parents to support each learner's development journey.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Experience in special needs education or a similar role is a plus, though we welcome applicants committed to making a difference in children's education.
  • Skills: Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach are essential for this role.
  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English proficiency is preferred but not mandatory for those passionate about helping SEN students succeed.
