Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Special Needs Resource Base Classroom Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, other support staff, and parents to provide individualized support to students with a range of special educational needs.

Overview:

• Title: (SNRB) Classroom Assistant
• Pay: £83.50 per day minimum
• Location: Canton, Cardiff
• Hours: Full time/Part time, - Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:15 pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with classwork, homework, and other educational activities.
• Support students in developing social skills and managing behavior in a positive and constructive manner.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson plans and classroom activities to meet the needs of students.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.
• Promote an inclusive and respectful classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of students during classroom activities, breaks, and excursions.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in special education.

The role: What you'll be doing as a (SNRB) Classroom Assistant

• Helping bridge the gap for learners where English isn't their first language
• Work in partnership with other members of staff to support the learners in their care
• Supporting the class Teacher with the planning for the lesson
• Support learners individually, in small groups and on a full-class basis
• Engage learners with both classroom and outside-classroom activities
• Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a (SNRB) Classroom Assistant

• Registration as a School Learning Support Worker with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
