We are seeking a Secondary Special Needs Assistant to join a vibrant and nurturing secondary special needs school in Croydon, London. Key Details:�Special Needs Assistant




  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Contract: Fixed term for one academic year (with potential to transition to permanent staff)

  • Pay: �400 to �600 per week (dependent on experience and qualifications)





Responsibilities:�Special Needs Assistant




  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism and complex needs

  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and life skills development

  • Support students in managing sensory, communication, and behavioural challenges

  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each student progresses

  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment





Requirements:�Special Needs Assistant




  • Experience working with children or young people with autism and complex needs

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting diverse learners

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A proactive, resilient, and adaptable attitude

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare





Desirable:�Special Needs Assistant




  • Knowledge of autism-specific strategies, such as TEACCH, PECS, or sensory integration techniques

  • Experience in a special needs school or educational setting
