Specialist Occupational Therapist

Hull City Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

• To provide day-to-day management, supervision and line management of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Students to implement an effective and timely service for Hull residents based on health and wellbeing, coproduction, strengths-based social care and a good understanding of key legal concepts. Coordinate services and people in relation to adults presenting with multiple disadvantages.
• To support families and carers to adjust to changing circumstances.
• To oversee delivery of personalised non-intrusive and seamless proportionate and timely interventions. Contributes to team planning, effectiveness and responsiveness.
• Supports team manager with improving practice and performance of individuals/team by providing day to day education and supervision.
• Actively engages in practice development forums/meetings ensuring focussed and purposeful discussions lead to improved social work practice providing professional input as required.
• As directed prepares and attends decision making forums including supporting co-workers with decisions relating to complex/high risk cases. Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that people's outcomes are achieved e.g. facilitating joint reviews/assessments.

To Be Successful.

• Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
• Previous experience working with major adaptations.
• Manual handling experience
• HCPC Registration
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Occupational Therapist Qualification
