Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated�Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant�to join our team at a fantastic�SEN Specialist Provision�located in Bottesford. As a Specialist�Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students.
Our School caters to children aged 5-18 with SEN, SEMH and behavioural challenges.
The school has a strong focus on academic excellence and personal development, we are committed to providing our students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed.
Duties:
- Behavioural Support:�Implementing behaviour management strategies to support students in maintaining positive behaviour. Providing one-on-one or small-group interventions to address behavioural challenges. Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behaviour support plans.
- Academic Support:�Assisting students with their academic tasks, providing additional support where necessary. Working closely with teachers to adapt learning materials and activities to meet the individual needs of students .Monitoring and recording student progress, collaborating with the teaching team to assess and address learning gaps.
- Emotional Support:�Build positive relationships with students to promote emotional well-being. Providing a safe and nurturing environment for students to express themselves and develop social skills. Recognizing and responding to the social and emotional needs of students.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, behavioural challenges and PEX students. Applicants from a Care/Youth Support Worker background also welcome!
- Familiarity with special education practices and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse groups of people
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable
- Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus
- A passion for educating and empowering young learners

To achieve the higher pay rate for this role, you will need to have a minimum of 2 years experience working with SEN children & young adults.
