Specifications Technologist

Alexander Steele have partnered with an established food manufacturing business. Our client is seeking an experienced specification technologist to join the business on a permanent basis.

What’s on Offer:

• Paying between £30,000 - £35,000


• Monday – Friday


• Company pension

Responsibilities:

• Writing and developing specifications for new and existing products that the business offers.


• Liaise with suppliers and customers to develop and modify product specifications ensuring that they meet with the specified legal and customer requirements.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as npd team, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to obtain necessary information for specification development.


• Stay up to date with local and international food labelling regulations, including allergen and nutrition labelling.

Background Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in a specification technologist role within a food manufacturing environment.


• First hand experience working with retailer portals.


• Strong understanding of food ingredient functionality, nutritional analysis, and allergen management.


• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
