Speech & Language Therapist - Aquired Brain Injury

Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a speech and language therapist to join our client, a specialist neurobehavioral rehabilitation service for people with an acquired brain injury, including traumatic brain injury and stroke or a progressive neurological condition to reduce challenging behaviour and optimise functional skills.

Salary: Up to £55,000 (DoE) with £5000 welcome bonus

Position: Speech & Language Therapist Band 6 or 7

Hours: 30 hours

Setting: Neuro - Adults Acquired Brain Injury

Location: Leicestershire

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Duties and Supervision: Undertake clinical responsibilities under the supervision of the Consultant Specialist SLT, with peer support from the Generalist SLT, to deliver Speech and Language Therapy services.
• Assessment and Treatment: Conduct initial assessments using evidence-based, person-centered approaches and manage treatment for communication difficulties and disorders following brain injury.
• Knowledge and Skill Development: Enhance knowledge in acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and mental health impacts on communication, with opportunities for specialist training in dysphagia.
• Administrative and Operational Responsibilities: Participate in ward rounds, care-plan meetings, and complete administrative tasks in line with Health and Care Professions Council Standards of Practice.
• Team Collaboration and Awareness: Collaborate with the SLT team to improve service provision, prioritise caseloads, complete newly qualified competencies, and promote best practices in communication support across the site.

For this role, we're looking for someone who has;

• HCPC registered SLT
• Ideally experience of working with ABI and Dysphagia
