NonStop Consulting are currently partnered with a wonderful client based in Lincolnshire. We are looking for an experienced Residential Support Worker to join the team at two 4-5 bed homes for young people aged 9-17.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing Care and Support: Offer high-quality care and support to young people, helping them to develop life skills and reach their full potential.

  • Ensuring Safety and Wellbeing: Ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of young people in your care, creating a stable and supportive environment.

  • Assisting with Daily Routines: Support with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and engaging in recreational activities.

  • Promoting Positive Behaviour: Encourage positive behaviour, and manage challenging situations in a calm and constructive manner, fostering a supportive atmosphere.

  • Maintaining Records: Keep accurate, up-to-date records of care provided, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, as well as external professionals, to ensure that young people receive comprehensive and appropriate support.

  • Supporting Emotional and Social Development: Help young people develop emotionally, socially, and mentally, assisting them in building confidence and coping strategies.

  • Engaging in Key Worker Role: Take on a key worker role for individual young people, offering consistent support, building trust, and working on personalised care plans.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in Children's Homes: Essential experience working within children's homes, supporting young people in care.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care: Ideally, candidates should have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification. However, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with young people, team members, and external professionals, ensuring clear and positive interactions.

  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and the needs of the young people in your care.

  • Passion for Supporting Young People: A genuine commitment to supporting children and young people in care, promoting positive outcomes and helping them develop life skills.

  • Ability to Manage Challenging Behaviour: Experience in managing challenging behaviour in a calm, constructive, and empathetic manner.

  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills to maintain accurate records and manage daily routines efficiently.

  • Commitment to Personal and Professional Development: Willingness to continue learning and growing in the role, including undertaking any required training or qualifications.
