Steel Fixer

SW Care is currently seeking a number of blue carded steel fixers for ongoing works this role is based in Dartmouth,

We are looking for a number of steel fixers that are seeking long term work. we are working on a commercial development project and require a number of steel fixers with the potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Position and secure steel reinforcement bars or reinforcement steel mesh to reinforce concrete structures.


• Read and interpret reinforcement plans/drawings and reinforcement schedules.


• Set out the work from provided instructions.


• Cut and bend steel bars or mesh to the required length/shape using bolt cutters, guillotines, or power saws.


• Assemble reinforcing bars or mesh using the correct tying wire in predetermined locations prior to concrete pours.


• Fabricate steel reinforcement such as beams, pile caps, columns, or special units.


• Use jigs to join prefabricated units together for large sections of high-rise or civil projects.


• Position reinforcement ready for concrete pours.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to work in a construction environment.


• Proficient in using hand and power tools.


• Ability to lift and handle heavy objects.


• Competent at performing routine manual labor tasks.


• Excellent attention to detail.


• Proven ability to understand and execute written and verbal instructions.


• Ability to work in a team.


• CSCS Skilled Worker Card (Blue).


• Understanding of and ability to interpret drawings
