Inventory Manager / Stock Controller

Salary: Circa £32k-£36k – there is the opportunity to negotiate a higher salary for the right experience  

Location: Scunthorpe

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm

My client is one of the largest independent waste management providers in East England.  They are seeking a professional and experienced Inventory Manager/ Stock Controller to join their team in Scunthorpe.  This role has scope for progression as you take on responsibility for more inventory items, hence the client is looking for someone with aspirations to grow with the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for all stock for the Engineering and Operations departments.  



The Role:

•    Plan and Coordinate stock for the workshop, yard and stores

•    Instigate and implement a complete stock control system and complete regular stock takes 

•    Investigate discrepancies using available reports 

•    Submit feedback /report to relevant Managers



Ideal Candidate: 

•    Minimum 2 years’ experience within a stock control/inventory management role.

•    Possess a thorough working knowledge of stock control systems.

•    Computer Literate and familiar with advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel.

•    Able to make decisions and take initiative in reacting to operational challenges as they arise.

•    Ability to foresee a potential stock issue.

•    Versatile and flexible on hours to suit business needs and efficiencies.

•    Ability to work under pressure

•    Undertake training to increase skills and levels of competencies.

•    Flexibility, ‘hands-on’ approach, able to adapt and move at a fast pace accurately.

•    Attention to detail and accurate reporting mandatory.

•    Able to embrace change, and proactively seek methods to improve the business and / or reduce costs.

•    Highly analytical and mathematically inclined.

•    Fine attention to detail and a keen sense of accuracy.
