Storage Engineer Newcastle Upon Tyne Full time Hybrid Careers Plus are working on behalf of a respected public sector client to hire an experienced Storage Engineer to join the organisation. The role will involve optimising and maintaining their storage and server infrastructure whilst working in a cross functional team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in storage systems, backup solutions, and data management to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with government standards.Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain storage solutions for a public sector environment.Monitor storage performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot effectively.Provide 2nd/3rd line support for storage, server and backup services. Manage data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards.Document storage architectures, processes, and configurations.Requirements:Proven experience as a Storage Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a public sector or highly regulated environment.Expertise in storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS) and backup technologies.Demonstrable experience of building and deploying Windows Server 2012/2016 within a Data centre environment.Strong knowledge of general networking concepts. Good working knowledge of scripting tools (VBScript and Powershell) Proven experience working with VMWare (VCenter, ESX, VDI)Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Candidates must have full right to work in the UK and be subject to Security Clearance.
