Involve recruitment are in search of stores and facilities operative for our client a civil engineering main contractor. the purpose of this role is to assist with the day to day running of the stores and facilities across the site. Ensuring the data related to the stores is accurate and up to date. The jobholder will occasionally collect and deliver of materials and consumables using company transport.



Key Responsibilities:



Tasks will include but not be limited to the following:




  • Receiving materials, tools and consumables from suppliers.

  • Goods inwards documentation checking, ensuring all deliveries are undamaged and everything is present and accounted for.

  • Managing stock levels within the stores.

  • Issuing and recording materials, tools and consumables to the site teams.

  • Recording any damages on hire equipment returned to the stores.

  • Supporting the Facilities manager with checks on mobile welfare units.

  • Occasional site deliveries to and collections from suppliers

  • Maintenance of the stores compound and main site compound.

  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by your manager.



Environmental Responsibilities




  • Consider the environment in decision making, including material procurement, energy efficiency, pollution, and ecology on site.

  • Be environmentally aware of the consequences of actions; be familiar with relevant project documentation, standards and contractual requirements regarding environmental performance seek advice from the Environmental Department.



Specific Safety Responsibilities




  • To take reasonable care for the safety of themselves and of any other person who may be affected by what they do or fail to do at work.

  • To co-operate with their employers or any other persons in the performance of their statutory duties.

  • Not to misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare.

  • The ability to evaluate safety practices and procedures to recommend methods of improvement.



Qualifications




  • Previous experience working within the construction industry.

  • Driving licence



Skills and Experience




  • Good communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.

  • Flexible approach with an ability to adapt to tight and often changing deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize own workload with a collaborative approach to work.

  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literate, ideally with experience of using Excel.

  • A telehandler licence is desirable but not essential.
