Duties and responsibilities of the Store person/ General Operative

• Receive, check and sign for all deliveries made to site


• Take deliveries and manage the loading dock and store rooms


• Unload & load lorries/vans


• Check deliveries against delivery notes and for quality, quantities & damage or missing items


• Checking stock levels regularly


• Completing the required paperwork when booking in & Keeping paperwork up to date


• Updating stock information on the computer system


• Comparing items received against items ordered


• Implementing or improving processes and procedures


• Compiling daily reports and addressing inventory discrepancies


• Performing random checks and audits


• Work in a safe manner and comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies


• Able to work well as part of a team


• Ability to work accurately and methodically


• Flexible approach to duties and tasks


• Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality


• Facilitating the flow of materials between various parties and departments


• Streamlining interdepartmental communication


• Working with site managers to collect relevant information about job status


• General packing requirements ensuring preservation of products


• Metal finishing


• Operating machinery


• General maintenance

Organisation skills

Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Word

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to comply with company procedures and policies

Interpersonal skills

FLT licence is essential for the role

Store person/ General Operative - Benefits include the following:

Mon - Thurs 07:15 - 4:30pm

Fri 07:15-12:15pm

Free on-site parking

25 days holiday plus bank/public holidays. After 12 months holiday allowance will increase to 30 days plus bank/public holidays.
