The role:
Strategic Architecture role within a FTSE250 Wealth Management Business.
A Wealth Management or Financial Services background is required.
Key responsibilities:
Identifying technology trends and driving innovation that support the business programmes strategy, aligning IT architecture with business strategy, and serving as a key advisor to senior management on strategic technology decisions that have commercial implications.
The Strategic Architect will also be responsible for mitigating system risks, ensuring consistency and integration across IT systems and infrastructure, and leading the organisation through the implementation of new technologies, always with an eye on commercial impact.
In addition to commercial acumen, the Strategic Architect will possess expertise in technology architecture and estate planning. This includes assessing the current technology landscape, identifying gaps and opportunities, and developing a roadmap for optimising and modernising our technology infrastructure.
The Strategic Architect will lead the strategic programme, ensuring that our systems and applications are aligned with industry best practices and capable of supporting our business growth and innovation. This will involve evaluating and selecting digital platforms, overseeing the integration of new technologies, and ensuring that the digital architecture is scalable, secure, and resilient.
Furthermore, the Strategic Architect will actively manage vendor relationships and influence to drive value and align with our commercial objectives. This includes evaluating vendor solutions, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that vendors deliver on their commitments; working closely with the procurement team to identify and onboard new vendors that can contribute to our technology strategy and deliver superior commercial outcomes.
Overall, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of aligning technology architecture and estate planning with business goals, leading digital platform transformations, and effectively managing vendor relationships to maximise commercial value.
About You:
Ideal candidates will have a strong blend of technical and business acumen, a deep understanding of IT architecture, a proven track record in strategic planning and execution, and a demonstrable commercial acumen.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex technology strategies to a wide range of stakeholders, and translate these into commercial terms, are also essential.
