Location: Bradford / Hybrid Working (1 day min office a week - Bradford)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Asset Manager - Base Maintenance to join the Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Strategy & Regulation are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Lead the development and agreement of the PR29 multi-billion pound investment plan for Base maintenance, ensuring a robust strategy to maintain the asset base. Lead the completion of the company's periodic review investment needs in relation to Management & General and oversee the regulatory business case submissions for base maintenance. Additionally, spearhead the development and agreement of a 25-year base maintenance investment requirement, ensuring the assets remain resilient and capable of delivering excellent service to our customers. To achieve this you will also lead on the company asset deterioration modelling capability, informing business decision making in the short, medium and long term.
Responsibilities also include line management of two FTE specialists in asset planning, as well as regulatory and sector liaison as required, including responding to Ofwat queries and UKWIR representation on working groups.
Where you fit in:
As our Strategic Asset Manager - Base Maintenance you will undertake
Interpretation of regulatory guidance into business advice and actions.
Understanding emerging base maintenance needs over the medium and long term and articulating these through easily understandable graphics and other forms of business communications.
AMP8 programme promotion activity, in ensuring asset management system inputs are fit for the purpose of decision making.
The ability to think creatively in a challenging environment.
Keeping abreast of emerging regulatory requirements and understanding/articulating the risks ad opportunities posed to your area of accountability.
Keeping abreast of AMP8 delivery and the challenges we face, to ensure an agreed and logical alignment to the PR29 regulatory submission.
Representation of Yorkshire Water on external groups eg. UKWIR or system user groups.
Ensure your team provide a suite of specialist skills to the business on a day-to-day basis and management of these services will be inherent to the successful delivery of the role.
The role will require strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally.
Understanding how base maintenance expenditure relates to meeting the existing and future performance commitment levels to our customers.
Gain a greater understanding of the Management & General investment areas, to ensure alignment with other business objectives
What skills & qualifications you will need:
Degree level education or equivalent
Experience of working in, or with, a regulated utility
Experience of managing your own workload
Ability to build and maintain internal and external networks
A driven self-starter with a passion for excellence, and a track record of delivering results
Excellent communication skills
Certificate in Risk Management from Institute of Risk Management (can be undertaken in role)
Certificate in Asset management from the Institute of Asset Management (can be undertaken in role)
Full driving licence (as travel between locations may be required)
