A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Goods Export Controller to join a leading defence supplier based on the Isle of Wight in a remote capacity. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to manage and continuously improve export control processes in a fast-paced and expanding organisation.



The Strategic Goods Export Controller will report directly to the Head of Marketing & Communications and will play a key role in ensuring compliance with UK and international export regulations. With the company undergoing significant growth, this position will involve refining existing processes and developing new ones to support larger, more complex projects.



Day-to-day responsibilities of the Strategic Goods Export Controller will include:




  • Managing the Export Control Process to ensure compliance with UK and US legislative frameworks.

  • Auditing exports and maintaining accurate records of goods ratings, licenses, and end-use declarations.

  • Training staff on their roles in export control and continuously improving internal processes.

  • Supporting cross-functional teams in delivering goods, software, and technology exports.

  • Advising on UK and US export regulations, including ITAR and EAR constraints.



The ideal Strategic Goods Export Controller will have:




  • Strong knowledge of UK Strategic Goods Export Control regulations.

  • Experience in a high-tempo UK engineering or defence manufacturing business.

  • Familiarity with ISO9000 standards and export-related documentation.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
