Strategic Procurement Manager

Our public sector based client is currently looking to recruit an Interim Strategic Procurement Manager on an initial 3-6 month contract

Strategic Procurement Manager
£500 - £600 per day inside IR35
Hybrid working - Essex

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Procurement Manager, ideally have worked within the public sector or third sector and be MCIPS qualified.  Within the role you will be overseeing all procurement matters including contract tenders, contract lifecycles, procurement compliance and all other procurement matters.  You will be working within a strategic partnership with the aim to create a unified team which will share knowledge, experience and projects, developing a unified way of working.  Key duties –

To oversee the management of the entire procurement function in accordance with statutory regulations and the objectives, ensuring strong governance and assurance across all procurement activities that best value for money is obtained.
To provide professional comprehensive expert advice to members and senior officers to embed a corporate complaint, sustainable approach to effective procurement and contract management and monitoring.
To demonstrate leadership of the strategic procurement function to deliver optimum value for money in respect of major programmes and projects.
Lead the organisation’s response and understanding of national procurement issues.
To be the lead specialist in all procurement projects, proactively managing procurement activities to ensure all are completed in accordance with deadlines and obtain optimum solutions.
