Structural Engineer

p The Engineer is expected to support the Engineering Line Manager and is responsible for handling projects within own level of authority and providing training and guidance to supporting team members. /p br Take the next step in your career now, scroll down to read the full role description and make your application. br p strong Responsibilities: /strong /p ul li Undertaking of technical and feasibility studies including organising site investigations /li li To use a range of software to develop detailed structural designs as well as hand calculations /li li Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including contractors and architects /li li Preparation of contract documents, management of tenders /li li Resolving design and development problems /li li Management of budget and project resources /li li Ensuring that all projects comply with legal requirements including CDM2015, Party wall, Listed buildings /li li Assessment of sustainability and environmental impact of projects /li li Contribute to the company’s marketing objectives, targets and initiatives /li li Assisting director with training and development of the engineering team /li li Inspection / Supervision of construction work on site under contract, preparation of interim and final accounts, claim and practical completion /li li At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations /li /ul p strong The person: /strong /p p Qualifications - Experience Structural Engineering Mend (Hons) /p p strong Experience: /strong /p ul li Extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications and guidelines /li li Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles /li li Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects /li /ul p strong Qualities and Skills: /strong /p ul li Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills /li li The ability to think methodically and to manage projects /li li Problem-solving skills /li li Excellent verbal and written communication skills /li li Knowledge of relevant legislation /li /ul
