Job Title:
Structural Steel Engineer (Setting out)
Description & Background:
Hinkley Point C is a major construction project. An opportunity has arisen for a Structural Steel Engineer to join the site management team at HPC Taunton. This role involves ensuring the correct setting out and surveying of steel structures, playing a crucial part in the timely and accurate completion of the project.
Responsibilities:
• Setting out, levelling, and positioning of all steel structures/materials within work scope and tolerances
• Working with Clients engineers to meet project timelines and specifications
• Production of as-built drawings and survey information as per contract specifications
• Problem-solving and raising technical queries on design issues
• Ensuring compliance with Company Operating Procedures, Quality Assurance, and Statutory Safety Legislation
• Surveying primary structures before support welding commences
• Conducting post-erection surveys and compiling as-built surveys in a timely manner
Experience Required:
• Previous experience as a Site / Setting out engineer
• Prior experience managing Steel structure projects
• Strong understanding of engineering principles
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and site layouts
• Experience with NSSS standards
• Available to work on-site
Location:
• HPC Taunton
Salary + Hours:
• Full-time, 42-hour week, Monday-Friday
• £80,000 per year
• Accommodation allowance provided
