Caritas Futures is supporting well-respected Children's Charity dedicated to delivering high-quality services and interventions to children and young people as a Substance Misuse Worker based in Plymouth.

It will be Temp role until April poss longer- January start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat young people with identified drug/alcohol problems.
  • Work with individual young people and their families, including those identified by the YOT Team.
  • Deliver tailored, evidence-based group work programmes.
  • Implement drug prevention and harm minimisation strategies.
  • Provide specialist consultation to other professionals.
  • Collaborate across agency boundaries, serving both statutory and third sectors.
  • Offer comprehensive and flexible assessment services.
  • Provide accessible information, advice, and support on substance misuse issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work degree or equivalent, or relevant professional qualification (e.g., Youth & Community, Education, NVQ 3 Health & Social Care, HNC in Social Care or Early Years).
  • Knowledge of substance misuse and the Criminal Justice Process related to young people.
  • A driving licence, access to a car, and willingness to travel across the region.
