We are recruiting for an Operations Supervisor for our client based in Southampton. The client we are recruiting for is a full supply chain service and is looking to recruit someone on a permanent contract.
About the Role:
- As a Supervisor, you will, lead the department and manage a small team to achieve service levels set out and agreed by the client. Your responsibilities include fostering individual ownership and encouraging teamwork to share best practices for collective goal achievement.
- Possessing a can-do attitude is essential in this role. Your customer services skills and knowledge of the operation will be a key asset, enabling you to work mutually beneficial way with the client through all forms of communication.
- Taking responsibility for all aspects of the department including labour planning inbound and outbound receipts, will allow you to manage the department in the most cost-effective way for the client.
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with flexibility required to be prepared to do shifts if it became necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility for the department.
- Manage the relationship reporting daily any risks and challenges to the Shift Manager which could lead to service issues.
- Plan staffing levels in line with the daily tasks and manage communication for any additional needs.
- Manage and motivate the small team within the department making sure they manage the daily inbound and outbound requirements.
- Ensures the client is communicated with in a timely manner, using the most appropriate form of communication.
- Provide daily figures to Shift Manager on staffing and consumables used within the department.
- Receive and process returns getting them back to stock within SLA guidelines and reporting any damage
- Manage the handover of container goods and locate within storage area.
- Adhere to Amazon FBA preparation guidelines and report any issues with labels or stock to the client.
- Manage all racking stock squash up to reduce storage cost for the client.
- Report daily any collection issues and manages the floor space to make sure it is not overflowing.
- Positively promote the company values and deal with negative behavior and poor performance promptly, as per company guidelines.
- Adhere to the agreed timescales for all operational tasks, ensuring standards are maintained.
- Review existing processes and seek new solutions for changing requirements.
- Ensure the Shift Manager is kept appropriately up to date with all staff and client matters.
- Work with Regional on different rework request to maximise the profit in line with making sure it completed on time and right first time.
- Escalate all accidents and incidents to the Shift Manager promptly.
- Train and develop the team working within the regional team including any agency staff.
- Any other duties and responsibilities that may be agreed from time to time.
As an Operations Supervisor, you will need to have:
- Previous experience in a supervisor role is essential.
- Experience in a warehouse environment is essential.
- Previous people management is essential.
- Customer service management is desirable.
- Has a good level of general IT literacy and is able to use Excel and Outlook to a basic level.
