Essential Requirements / Experience:

• Experienced Quality Professional: Ideally, with 3-5 years in a quality engineering role. Procurement experience is advantageous.


• Engineering Background: Must have a strong foundation in engineering, particularly within quality assurance.


• Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with IATF 16949 or willingness to learn. Proficiency in PFMEA, root cause analysis, PPAP, and core quality tools.


• Relationship Building: Personable and capable of building strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.


• Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel 50-60%, primarily across the UK and Europe, with occasional trips to North America.

Salary Package:

• Competitive annual salary circa �45K-�50K, flexible depending on experience.

The Role:

We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to work closely with and develop suppliers, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and deliver high-quality products within specified timeframes. You will be part of a small team that parachutes into suppliers for a few weeks to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Certification and Development: Help suppliers certify to IATF 16949 standards, assess their capabilities, and ensure compliance with company and customer expectations.


• Quality Assurance: Conduct root cause analysis, implement PFMEA, and use core quality tools to resolve and prevent quality issues.


• Collaboration with Procurement: Work with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure sourced products meet quality and design specifications. Assist in supplier auditing and performance evaluation.


• Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with suppliers, providing continuous feedback and support to improve their processes.
