Compass Point Recruitment is proud to be supporting an established company, who are working within an exciting industry collaborating with large worldwide recognised brands, to recruit a Supply Chain Coordinator for their team.
The scope of the role is company-wide, supporting and assisting the Managing Director and working with the global supply base, there may at times, be a requirement to travel and work overseas.
The role will involve managing best practice in:
  • Assisting with the planning stock rotation and setting inventory trigger levels
  • communicating component, finished and/or raw product, packaging and delivery specifications, to suppliers
  • comparing supplier and competitor prices and negotiating prices down
  • drafting and issuing Purchase Orders
  • checking and authorizing, order acknowledgements and invoices
  • liaising with the sales team re. stock price, volumes and lead-times
  • assisting with capacity planning and forward scheduling
  • working closely with the warehouse manager on all in/outbound stock and stock holding related issues
  • managing global logistics
  • overseeing UK transport strategy, distribution arrangements and costs.
  • liaising with sales & Finance and suppliers on quality assurance standards
  • conducting supplier audits
  • supporting marketing with relevant stock availability and timings for specific product development, launches and promotions
  • assisting with returns management
  • working with the senior management team on assisting with the identification and disposal of, slow moving stock and clearance lines
  • assisting with the producing reports on stock levels, stock turn, demand forecasting and related information
Essential skills and experience include:
  • confidence in communicating at all levels and in different cultures, both externally with suppliers and third-party service providers and internally, re. management reporting and warehouse floor direction
  • the ability to manage and mentor a small team
  • resourcefulness and strong negotiation skills
  • excellent aptitude for IT, IS and WMS including Excel, and ideally, Opera, or a similar in-house inventory and accounting-based system, or specialist supply chain management software
  • budgetary and cash flow understanding
  • initiative in all aspects of cost reduction
  • application of control and measurement systems
  • ability to multi-task in a busy and demanding role in a small team
  • results-focused, with a passion for continuous improvement
  • a keen eye for detail
  • excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • a can do attitude and preparedness to get stuck in at a hands-on level when needed, and to lead by example
  • (ideally) knowledge of ordering from the Far East and forecasting to long lead-times
  • Commercially astute
  • familiarity with risk management techniques
  • experience of working to tight deadlines
  • customer focused with an understanding of customer expectations and service levels & ideally an understanding of the product.
  • Post Brexit customs procedure

Additional information:
  • This is a full-time position, with flexibility around the daily hours of this role, with the business working between 8am-6pm, they are able to accommodate a later start time etc.
  • They also have an early finish on a Friday of 3pm!
  • This is an on-site position in their Bury St Edmunds office.
