​​​​EMBS Engineering is collaborating with a leading precision engineering company near Northampton to find a new Supply Chain Manager for a permanent role.

We have been exclusively tasked with identifying an experienced Supply Chain/Procurement Manager to support our client’s ongoing growth. With a robust order book and increased manufacturing demands, combined with new investments in advanced technology and machinery, this is a prime opportunity for someone looking to join a well-established SME and play a key role in delivering complex engineering solutions.

The company has a strong track record in designing, manufacturing, and producing intricate, critical components for high-profile, world-renowned customers. With a global presence, the business primarily serves the automotive/motorsport, aerospace, and marine sectors. Main Focus area:

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring optimal supply chain performance to support business requirements and growth. You will be tasked to apply proven purchasing techniques to maximise commercial leverage through commodity structures, benchmarking information gathering and strong negotiation techniques.

Essential experience required:

Supply Chain Management

Business Management and Analytical Skills

Finance

Strong computer literacy using MRP and ERP systems

Logistics & Transport Management

Key Responsibilities will include:

* Working with buyers to source the right products and that they are purchased on time

* Negotiate contracts with suppliers

* Control manufacturing and delivery processes

* Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met

* Oversee product storage, handling and distribution

* Use computer software to track goods from origin to delivery

* Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analysing performance

* Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality

* Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process

* Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers

* Manage and minimise the risks, that could affect or interrupt the supply chain

* Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain in order to meet sustainability targets

* Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

* Strong Supply Chain / Procurement experience within a precision engineering manufacturing environment, working with customers / suppliers that operate within industries such as; Automotive, Motorsport, F1, Aerospace or Marine

* Minimum of 3 years Supply Chain Management experience

* Excellent planning skills

* Good time management with the ability to work well under pressure and maintain accuracy and adhere to deadlines

* Ability to use your own initiative, be pragmatic and think strategically and laterally

* Sound man-management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams

* Negotiation and influencing skills

* Excellent communicator both written and oral

* IT literacy skills

What will you receive?

* Stability / Longevity: Permanent position

* Competitive salary - Circa £70,000 p.a depending on experience

* Hours: Days (40 hours)
