Do you want a full-time permanent job where you can make a difference in the lives of young vulnerable deaf people with complex needs?


I am recruiting several CARING and PASSIONATE Support Workers to join a Residential Service for Adults with Complex Needs. The service is located in CULLOMPTON, DEVON supports adults aged 18+. As part of the team, you will be working closely with other local organisations and services to offer a wide choice of activities, hobbies, educational input and support to attend Deaf events and integration into the Deaf community.


All of the young adults use British Sign Language to communicate and all communication is supported by AAC devices and visual imagery. Further courses in BSL would be offered in line with current experience and qualifications.


The service is looking for candidates with a caring nature and the ability to have fun and engage with the people they support.

  • Salary: £24,793- £26,083 (Plus sleeps) + Plenty of overtime available, paid at time and half!
  • Hours: Full Time - 40 hours per week + 2 sleep per week
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Shifts: 2 on 4 off shift pattern
  • Location: Cullompton, Devon

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Encouraging independence and supporting individuals to make their own choices.
  • Ensuring the safety of the service users.
  • Following care plans for each individual.
  • Taking service users out into the community.
  • Participating in activities such as arts, crafts, gardening and day trips.
  • Varying levels of personal care.


Requirements:

  • No experience is required.
  • Must have some knowledge of BSL
  • Must be resilient.
  • Drivers ESSENTIAL due to location
  • Candidates must be happy to do personal care.
