Learning Disabilities Support Worker

If so, we have a new temporary to permanent opportunity in Carluke where you will become a permanent member of the team after 3 months, which may be the perfect fit for you!

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outcome-based support plans for autistic individuals.
• Ensure service provision is of the highest quality, demonstrating best practice and promoting safeguarding.
• Maintain accurate and robust records within Scottish Autism's recording systems.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to maximize service effectiveness.
• Serve as a Keyworker, leading regular Keyworker Meetings and participating in regular review meetings.
• Promote independence, dignity, and well-being of service users with a variety of additional needs.
• Assist service users with daily tasks, personal care, and medication administration.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience, and a genuine interest in helping people.
• Maintain Continuous Professional Development in line with the Scottish Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements.
• Participate in on-call duties, depending on development stage and location.

Requirements

• Full Uk Driving License and access to a vehicle
• Minimum of 1 year UK experience in a similar role
• Right to work in the UK
• SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or HNC in Social Care is preferred
• Experience working with people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour
• Strong Communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay calm in stressful situations, using your own initiative
