  • Safety Requirements Development: Develop, document, and maintain system safety requirements, ensuring they align with project goals and regulatory standards.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, software, hardware, and operations, to integrate safety requirements into the overall system design.
  • Verification and Validation: Lead safety verification and validation activities, including testing, analysis, and reviews, to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Safety Documentation: Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including safety assessment reports, hazard logs, and risk management plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all safety-related activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NASA, FAA, ESA, etc.).
  • Incident Investigation: Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to system safety issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in system safety processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in system safety engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense / space industry, with a focus on space systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in safety analysis techniques (PHA, FMEA, FTA, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of risk management principles and safety-critical systems.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
