Our client are leading 200 Law firm in Central London and seeking to recruit a Tax Adviser/Tax Accountant to join the�Private Client Tax and Investigations Group. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified, as much of the work will have a corporate nature, but a tax adviser with lots of corporate experience may also be interesting.



The work of the group involves advising clients in relation to:




  • general Private Client Tax Matters

  • advice to non UK domiciliaries

  • International tax

  • provide support on corporate tax matters

  • HMRC enquiries and tax investigations

  • Code of Practice 8 and 9 and criminal investigations

  • large tax disputes

  • offshore tax matters



The role will include:




  • undertaking detailed tax analysis;

  • applying tax treaties and International Tax Principles

  • corporate tax structuring and re-structuring

  • meeting HMRC and client deadlines;

  • preparing detailed analysis of tax planning and business structures to assist the team in identifying risks/opportunities;

  • assisting the team with detailed tax forensic work;

  • analysing and interpreting complex financial statements and accounting practices;

  • assisting other groups across the firm as require

  • drafting and completing disclosure reports for HMRC and for clients;



Candidate Profile



The successful candidate will have recently completed a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA) and be CTA qualified or have the desire to undertake their CTA exams in the future. If the candidate is not a qualified accountant, then CTA would be preferable with good corporate technical knowledge



You�will have excellent academic qualifications and have received good quality training and experience to date and have experience of working in a tax team, filing tax returns, etc. (corporate or personal).



The successful candidate must:




  • be a self-starter with a strong work ethic;

  • have an organised but flexible approach to their work;

  • be able to work well under pressure;

  • have a strong interest in forensic accounting;

  • be able to think and act independently but know when to ask for help and take instruction;

  • be confident, sociable and self-motivated with common sense; and

  • welcome direct exposure to clients.
