As the new Tax Assistant Manager you will join in this brand new position which has been created off the back of continued growth and client success, making it a great time to join the business and play a key role in the tax team's future. As Tax Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with a wide range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals and owner-managed businesses, supporting both personal and corporate tax work, with a clear weighting towards IHT planning. You'll be involved in delivering high-quality compliance services while also supporting on advisory projects, giving you the chance to broaden your expertise in a firm that provides clear pathways to progress. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and help shape a high-performing and friendly team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering tax compliance and advisory services.
  • Provide expert guidance on both personal and corporate tax matters, including IHT planning for high-net-worth individuals and OMBs.
  • Review tax returns and computations prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support and contribute to tax planning projects, helping clients optimise their tax positions.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, contributing to their development and the overall success of the tax team.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation, ensuring best practices are maintained.

What the client is looking for:

  • CTA qualified
  • Strong experience in personal tax compliance, ideally with exposure to advisory projects.
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Confident managing a varied client portfolio and building long-lasting relationships.
  • A proactive, team-focused approach with a desire to mentor and support others.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex matters clearly and confidently.
