Our Tax Investigations team are an award-winning team recognised for technical expertise and an emphatic approach to clients' cases.The TIDR team are the go-to experts on tax investigations and dispute resolutions, helping clients with all their communications with and representations to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). Secondly, within the TIDR team, our Troncmaster service line implements and manages ethical and HMRC compliant tronc schemes.Clients trust us to robustly defend disputes on their behalf, so it is important for us to build a lasting relationship founded on honesty and integrity.This role is due to commence in September 2024.Key aspects of the role include: Supporting both TIDR and Troncmaster service lines by attending client meetings and taking diligent notes.
Supporting both TIDR and Troncmaster service lines in managing their portfolio of HMRC investigation cases and tronc schemes.
Monitoring both the Tronc internal mailbox, for new enquiries and queries, and the Sharefile portal, for client uploads, ensuring these are dealt with within the client management system. Assisting with the review and analysis of data provided to us by client and/or other third parties. Assisting with the drafting of Letters of Engagement and Proposals of Work. Undertaking tronc allocations as and when necessary. Communicating/Negotiating with HMRC as appropriate.
Assisting with the submission of appeals/applying for ADR mediation. Assisting with the drafting of letters to HMRC, as appropriate. Liaising with senior TIDR team members in connection with monitoring the management of the TIDR team case portfolio. Assisting the TIDR team with raising fee notes as early as possible during every assignment. Completing all learning modules and exams as prescribed by the structured apprenticeship programme. Resolve technical queries when instructed by fellow TIDR team members. Carrying out administrative work as and when appropriate, including assisting in the administration and management of the TIDR team Training ProvidedYou will study towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3 and Level 4 qualification over 30 months under an apprenticeship, building not only on your technical skills, but also on your personal and professional development.Following the completion of the AAT qualification, continued career progression is supported.Training consists of a combination of courses at the tutors’ offices, private study and regular exams, as well as on-the-job training.
