Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with VAT regulations, optimising VAT processes, and providing strategic guidance to our organisation. This role, reporting to the Group Head of Tax, offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the continued success of our business. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of VAT compliance, including timely and accurate VAT return filings, Intrastat, and EC Sales List submissions Conduct periodic reviews of VAT processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains Provide expert advice on VAT matters to internal stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, and Operations teams Stay abreast of changes in VAT legislation and assess the impact on the business, recommending necessary actions to ensure compliance Collaborate with external advisors and tax authorities as necessary to resolve VAT-related issues and inquiries Develop and maintain robust excel models for VAT reporting, analysis, and forecasting purposes Lead VAT-related projects, such as VAT audits, process automation initiatives, and system implementations. Requirements: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or ICAS) and/or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification preferred. Proven experience in VAT compliance and advisory roles, preferably within the financial services sector. Strong proficiency in Excel modelling, including advanced functions and macros. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively to non-tax professionals. Proactive attitude with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
