Tax Specialist

Job Description
We are currently working with a Local Authority in the Midlands who are looking for an
Interim Senior Tax Accountant
to assist them for 3 – 6 Months.
You will take the lead role in providing technical VAT and Tax support and guidance to the Finance team and wider organisation.

3 – 6 Months Initially with extensions likely
Rate:
£550 - £600 per day (Inside IR35)
Hybrid Working Arrangement:
1 day onsite per week
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit Intrastat and VAT returns, including analytical review of significant movements and presentation at monthly VAT review meeting
• Reconcile VAT Control account and management of VAT Suspense account, working with the AP/AR Team to action and clear any outstanding items
• Provide tax advice on complex transactions in conjunction with the Lead Financial & Tax Accountant
• Review and automation of current VAT processes and reports to achieve efficiency savings
• Design and delivery of VAT training to the finance team and wider organisation
Requirements:
• CCAB qualified Accountant
• VAT Experience
• Experience dealing with month end processes and routines
