We are on the hunt for a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our Preston team, inspiring and guiding KS3 and KS4 students. Competitive daily rates are available, ranging from £155 to £230, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. You will create engaging and dynamic lesson plans that inspire curiosity and critical thinking, helping students to understand complex scientific concepts and their real-world applications

Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning
  • Supervise and support students in laboratory experiments and research projects.

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal attributes:


  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
