Art Teacher - Maternity Cover

Location: Southport

Contract Type: Maternity Cover, Part-time 0.8 FTE

Start Date: May 2025 (1 Year Maternity Cover).

Salary: �150 - �230 per day (MPS)

Are you a creative and dedicated Teacher of Art? Are you looking for a new challenge in a supportive and thriving secondary school? Empowering Learning are working alongside a large secondary school in the Southport area with outstanding facilities who are currently seeking an Art Teacher to join their team in May 2025 to cover a 12 month maternity leave. This role will involve teaching key stage 3 to key stage 4. Ideally you must hold Qualified Teacher status (QTS) for this role.

About the Role:

• Subject Specialism: You will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in Art.
• Part-time or Full-time contract: 0.8 Art & Design timetable. For any candidates looking for a full-time contract this is possible if you would be happy to support with general cover when needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Qualifications: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is preferred, but we are open to considering strong candidates with significant teaching experience.
• Experience: You should have a solid background in teaching Art. Experience in managing diverse classrooms and dealing with challenging behaviour is essential.
• Skills: Strong classroom management skills are a must. You should be confident, proactive, and enthusiastic about teaching, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
• Approach: We value teachers who are passionate about their subject and can inspire and motivate our students. A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning is highly appreciated.
