Position Details:

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full time
Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates considered)

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A passion for English and a commitment to nurturing student's creativity and critical thinking.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to engage students and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding protocols and best practices.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to differentiate lessons to cater to all learning styles.
  • Strong classroom management skills, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to students and parents on progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is a plus).
  • Foster a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking in students.
  • Provide detailed, constructive feedback to help students meet and exceed their targets.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages every student to thrive.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to support student success.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and plan next steps.
  • Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of all students.
  • Set and mark homework, providing timely and effective feedback.
