About the Role: As the Teacher of Food, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons to students, fostering a love for cooking and nutrition. You will play a pivotal role in developing students' culinary skills and knowledge, preparing them for a future where they can confidently navigate the world of food and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality food technology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes practical skills, healthy eating, and an understanding of food science.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain a safe and organised kitchen environment, ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Inspire and motivate students to explore their culinary creativity and develop a passion for food.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular learning and enrichment activities.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching food technology at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • A passion for food and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.
