About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a secondary school in Bradford. This temporary full time position starts immediately and will run until February half term. You'll be teaching History to students across KS3, delivering engaging lessons that help students understand the significance of the past and its impact on the present and future. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your passion for history and inspire students and inspire students to connect with historical events and ideas

Contract: Full time
Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference in the students lives.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Skills


  • Strong knowledge in History and the ability to convey it enthusiastically.
  • Confidence in setting out clear expectations, setting high standards of behaviour, learning and promoting an engaging learning environment.
  • Ability to tailor lessons to the needs of different learners.
  • Proficiency in evaluating student performance and providing verbal feedback in lessons.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school's development.
  • Competence in using digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:


  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative History lessons to KS3 students
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback to students and parents. Offer your support to students and families who require additional guidance.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and promote academic achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of the History department by sharing resources and ideas.
  • Support school-wide initiatives, including extracurricular activities and pastoral responsibilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of teaching practices and historical developments.
  • Uphold and promote the school's values, safeguarding policies, and commitment to student welfare.
  • Assess the students through use of Formative and Summative assessment
