At this exceptional school, you will employ behaviour-driven teaching strategies and interventions to foster positive outcomes and development in our pupils. Working within small classes, both individually and in groups, you will design, plan, and deliver teaching sessions aimed at encouraging pupils' learning and progression, as well as enhancing their social and emotional development.

About the role:


  • Deliver teaching and support to pupils, adhering to individualised curricula.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct lessons and activities with an emphasis on communication and life skills.
  • Facilitate pupils' participation in trips, integrating theory-based learning into practical experiences.
  • Provide behaviour-based support to mitigate and replace behaviours that affect quality of life.
  • Assist with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable hygiene standards (e.g., toileting, feeding).
  • Monitor pupil progress to ensure teaching methods are suitable and effective for each child's needs.
  • Assist with break time duties, including playground supervision and snack time assistance.

Skills and requirements:


  • Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities
  • Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent
  • Comfortable working with children who exhibit behaviour that challenges
  • Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
  • Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Driving licence desirable due to location
