This fabulous setting, supporting 11-16 year olds is looking to recruit an inspiring, creative and fun SEN Teaching Assistant. The centre supports young people who have difficulties with communication and social interaction, typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism, and challenging behaviour.

This position will start in September, and will require you to support an SEN learner on a 1:1 basis as well as some small group work. Classes are kept small, and have multiple teachers/TAs to support at all times. This is a permanent position, required 40hours a week, term time only.

The school is accessible via public transport and also offers free parking nearby. The site gives the learners the opportunity to thrive and work at their own pace, ensuring they are focused and engaged. SEN experience is desirable, however, the school are happy to accept applications from candidates with personal experience too.

About the role:

• To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
• To promote and encourage independence and personal development
• Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
• To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school. Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
• To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

About you:

All applicants for this position must have the following requirements to be considered-

• Must be a resilient, committed and a nurturing individual
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
• Team TEACH Training- desirable
